What to see

Capo Coda Cavallo, la Cinta, Spiaggia della Tartaruga and Spiaggia di Punta Molara are some of the dream seaside resorts that you will find in the surroundings of San Teodoro. As each one is attractive and unique, we suggest you to make a tour in order to explore at least four or five.

The town is full of surprises: the urban planning of the centre is essentially of the XIX century and by walking through the small streets you can see gates, facades and illuminations with an antique look.

All this blends with a modern imprint, from the Parish Church which has been rebuilt in the late 1950s to the majestic mural painting offered to the town by the artist Luigi Castiglioni.

People passionate of history will not miss the Museo Archeologico delle Civilta del Mare (Museum of the Sea) in Niuloni; furthermore, in Dorgali, there is the Aquarium dedicated to Mediterranean marine life, which is also suitable for children.

To end the day in style, we suggest a walk on the typical Coclearia market, open late at night; among the hundreds of local craft stands, you will surely find a souvenir to take away.

Wine and gastronomy

These are not real holidays without at least a small gluttony sin and San Teodoro Sardinia is a great tempter. Healthy food with land flavours, such as the typical zuppa gallurese  made from bread, cheese and meat broth.

Do not miss to taste the gnocchetti followed by a meat main course, together with a good glass of Vermentino Gallurese or Cannonau.

Last but not least, try one of the many delicious desserts, such as cucciuléddi milàti (pastry with honey, almonds and nuts) or rujoli (fresh cheese balls coated with honey)

Events in San Teodoro Sardinia

Do not miss out, the Tavolara Film Festival which takes place every year at the end of July.

To feel the true atmosphere of San Teodoro sea, we invite you to attend to the festival in honour of the Patron Saint on July 23rd: procession and Holy Mass followed by traditional songs and dances, between the sacred, the fun and the folklore.

In June, the events of Primavera in Gallura (spring in Gallura) are organised. Songs, dances, festivals, gastronomy and wine, old crafts, basically a real dive into the past, which requests loud and clear to not be forgotten.

Best time to visit San Teodoro Sardinia

It is difficult to identify a better time than another, but to fully enjoy the sea and the sun, a trip in July-August is probably essential, when the town gets full of tourists who invade the beaches and the lively places.
