  • Cala Inglese: Also called Punta Sardegna beach in the locality Punta Sardegna, Cala Inglese is broad and grain sand, medium fine. Close to the marina of the Yacht Club Punta Sardinia.
  • Costa Serena: A large beach that follows the wider one of Cala petralana and the Fortezza di Monte altura. A white sand with medium fine grains, frequented by those who spend holidays in Porto Rafael and Punta Sardegna. Convenient for the presence of catering services and hotels. One arrives from Palau in direction of Porto Rafael and Costa Serena.
  • Cala lepre (Plage des Suédois): A large expanse of clear sand in the Gulf of Salines, with a sea that degrades slightly in the sandy bottom. Many services make it suitable for families. From the Provincial Route 121 to Golfo delle Saline.
  • Golfo delle Saline: Ideal for snorkeling, kitesurfing and windsurfing, it offers a varied natural landscape, thanks to the presence of Mediterranean scrub. We also arrive here from the Provincial Route 121 towards Golfo delle Saline. There is a berthing point for boats and there are the services of a campsite, there is also a diving center and an agritourism.
  • The Isolotto: In the city center a few steps from the marina. The beach is small and the sea is crystal clear. We arrive via Riva dei lestrigoni. Presents a Residence with catering services.
  • La galatea: Between the beach of Acapulco and the beach of La Sciumara are small coves picked. You arrive by following the directions of Acapulco campsite.
  • La Sciumara: To the west of Palau there is a large beach just in front of the island of Maddalena. Services present in the area, you arrive by the ring road of Palau.
  • The Pool: Also known as Cala Scilla, is a cove of light grey granite rocks. We arrive from Palau following the signs for Porto Rafael, Costa Serena and Porto Cuncato.

  • Porto Faro: Named by the white and green lighthouse overlooking the sea, beach located in the center of Palau, it is very visited for the beauty of the surrounding landscape.
  • Porto Pollo (puddu – Seagull Island): A 50-metre stretch of sand connects the seagull island, a sight of nature divided between the arena beach and Porto Pollo. Great place for windsurfing, surf kits and fun-boarder. from the SS 133 bis Palau – Santa Teresa Gallura to Porto Pollo (Porto puddu).
  • Porto Liscia: Between Palau and Santa Teresa Gallura, at the mouth of Liscia, a beautiful beach that pairs with the old one that is in the same area.
  • Porto Rafael: beautiful cove that rises surrounded by villas, you arrive from the SS 125 turning towards Porto Rafael.
  • Porto mannu: In the Gulf of Salines, a beach that skirts the Marine National Park of the Maddalena Archipelago. Onarrive of the road that goes from Palau to Località Capo d’Orso.
  • Punta Cardinalino: a wild and preserved place, one arrives from Palau to the Cap de l’Ours by following a path that goes towards the Fortress of Capo d’Orso.
  • Punta Nera: After the beach of the island, near the city center stands this cove accessible by the street del Vecchio marino.
  • Sotto Porto Rafael: Beach with fine white sand, surrounded by vegetation. You arrive from the SS 125 after turning to the first roundabout towards Porto Rafael.
  • Talmone: Finally, you should not miss the charming coves of granite rock that you reach from Palau following Porto Rafael, Costa Serena and Porto Cuncato. A small 15 minute trail that passes by the Swimming Pool.

What to see and do in Palau Sardinia

  • Nightlife: There are many attractions, especially in summer, with craft markets, children’s play area, areas dedicated to youth nightlife (Porto Pollo) and pleasant evenings under the banner of the cabaret in the arena of Piazza Due Palme.

Where to go in Palau Sardinia


Many destinations are worth visiting, including three:

How to get to Palau Sardinia


You can arrive in Palau in different ways, including by taxi, hire with driver, bus or by renting vehicles at the arrival points on the island, below the indications for car, boat and plane:

By car:

From Porto Torres: In about an hour and a half (120 km), following the scenic route to the north of the island, you will cross beautiful towns such as Castelsardo, Valledoria, Costa Paradiso, Vignola and Santa Teresa di Gallura.

From Olbia: SS 125 towards Arzachena-Palau.

From Cagliari: SS 131 to Sassari. At the ramp before the city, proceed to %Sassari Latte Dolce, follow the direction platamona-Castelsardo that leads to the coast Porto Torres-Santa Teresa.

From Alghero: SS 291 to Sassari (35 km), continue to Porto Torres by the S.S. 131 (19 km). You get to Santa Teresa by the panoramic road north. It takes 30 km to get to Palau.

By boat:

You will find many ferries to Sardinia, the nearest ports are Olbia and Golfo Aranci, less comfortable for the distance there is also Porto Torres and Cagliari. We also arrive from Corsica from the port of Bonifacio to Santa Teresa.

By plane

40 km from Olbia airport and 150 km from Alghero. Cagliari is 300 km from Palau.


Marina of Palau Sardinia


The marina is active all year round and consists of seven floating docks, one in masonry. It can accommodate up to 400 boats up to 18 meters long. The bottom varies from 1.5 meters up to 4 meters.
